Leaders ask questions, provide direction, not answers......

What sort of a leader are you?

There have been many books, many movies, countless presentations and seminars all pertaining to the age-old question of  'What defines or is a great leader?

What do leaders need? simple answer 'followers'.....Now how do we gain followers?

A leader is often seen as someone who is always driving forward, determined to succeed whatever the cost and dragging his team to future success. He works long hours, is always the first in and the last out of the office. His motto is to lead by example, being strong, never appearing vulnerable. He is the tip of the spear always charging.....eventually, he turns around only to see very few actual followers. He then sounds the final charge and dies a martyr.

A great leader provides direction, not answers. Direction drives deeper thinking among his employees (followers) and allows him to discover just who has the true potential leadership qualities that need to be nurtured and harnessed for the good of the business. A great leader has humility, he is able to acknowledge when he is wrong and has flexibility. The best leaders don't use conversations as an excuse to feed their ego, but rather learn as much as possible from whoever they're speaking with.
